Dirk Fischer is now looking back on 18 years of experience within the automotive business and 14 years of experience in applying Toyota Production System principles.
In 1996 Dirk Fischer had his first TPS experience, as he was attending a typical one week kaizen workshop in Columbus Ohio. From this point in time, he was continuously learning about TPS and all the great shop floor improvement tools.
Between 1996 and 2000, Dirk has conducted more than 50 kaizen, SMED and TPM Workshops. He has held several Plant Manager and General Manager positions with a responsibility up to 300 mio € sales, 9 production facilities and more than 1100 employees and has made "lean" part of the daily business.
Since 2003, Dirk is learning the Toyota Way as he started to understand, that the TPS toolset is maximum 50% of the success. The other 50% is only possible to realize through very good leaders, who are generating great team members within a great company culture, like the Toyota Culture.
